As an application that is supposed to accompany and provide joy to people while working and writing, it is extremely important that people feel safe while using Typibara.
All keypresses are used on the spot for Typibara to respond with the correct animations, no data is EVER stored or shared.
To support this, Typibara is an application that functions COMPLETELY offline and locally on your device.
One of the primary reasons we chose to only distribute Typibara on the Mac App Store is because we'll be able to turn off network permissions for the app in Xcode completely (which Apple is able to verify while reviewing the app), and have Apple handle application updates.
As we stay true and honest to our claims. We welcome any user to verify that Typibara never accesses the internet at anytime. Here are some methods:
1. Third party applications (recommended):
Many third party applications have the ability to monitor exactly which and when applications connects to the internet to send or receive data. Third party applications often also provide advanced features like blocklists that prevents the selected app from accessing the internet.
2. Native Activity Monitor:
The native Activity Monitor application on the MacBook offers a similar feature, where users can see all network requests that are made by an application. However, it lacks the advanced features mentioned above, and has a slightly less user-friendly UI.
3. Terminal:
Alternatively, users can use the terminal command "lsof -nPi | grep <app name>", this essentially is just the more "techy" way of showing the same information from the previous two options.
At Typibara, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy outlines the information we collect, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information, for both our app and website.
Typibara does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data from your use of the app. The only data saved is related to app settings and preferences you choose to customize, which is stored locally on your device.
Typibara uses real-time input data (keystrokes) to trigger animations and synchronize with your typing. This data is processed locally and is never stored or transmitted outside of the app. No input data is saved after it is used for animation purposes.
Typibara functions entirely offline and does not require an internet connection to operate. As such, no data is transmitted over the internet or shared with third parties.
